Membership

Namida is free, with no ads and no tracking. Nearly everything in these docs works without paying anything, and without an account.

A membership is how you support the project and keep it growing. As a thank you, it unlocks a few extras on top (mostly for YouTube while signed in to your account, and some visual effects).

• Streaming in the best quality, audio only mode, data saver and radio mixes.
• Downloads of any video, audio or whole playlist, with tags, filename formats, splitting by chapters, removing sponsor segments and multiple connections.
• Caching for offline playback, with a priority system that keeps what matters to you.
• The full video player, with gestures, fullscreen, subtitles, chapters and picture-in-picture.
• Search with filters, and offline search through everything you watched before.
• Every option in the video menu: favourites, add to playlist, download, cache, copy, go to channel, play next, play after, play last, stop after this video and more.

• Like and dislike videos, your votes can go to Return YouTube Dislike too.
• Your account playlists, browse and sort them, create new ones, and add or remove videos. The add to playlist sheet shows which ones already have the video.
• Your subscriptions list, with all the latest videos from your channels.
• Your notifications, play all unread videos at once, mark them as read, and open comment notifications with their replies.
• Mark videos as watched on your account.

No membership? Go egg hunting. Namida hides eggs all around the app, and you can crack them for supporter features of your choice. Each feature costs 2 or 3 eggs 🆕 v8.2.0, so pick wisely.

• Stuck? Settings -> About -> Eggs has a hint for every egg.
• Some eggs only come out on special days, keep an eye on the top of the app.
• Find them all for a little gift. 🆕 v8.2.0
• Crack the eggs when a feature asks for a membership, and it’s yours to keep.
• Regret it? Sell it back for your eggs from the same About card, no questions asked.

Getting One

Open the membership page from Settings -> Youtube -> Manage Your Accounts, then press the membership tile. It shows your current tier and what it unlocks. The same page opens from the “Manage” button when something needs a membership.

There are two ways to get one:

• Patreon, subscribe on Patreon, then press “Sign in to your patreon account” in the membership page. If the browser doesn’t bring you back to Namida, press “Issues?” and paste the link it ended on.
• Coupon, donate through kofi or buymeacoffee and you get a coupon code by email (which can take a few days). Enter the code and your email in the Coupon section, then press Claim. The page shows when it expires.
